Tanizakura-Shuzo

“Tanizakura” – brewing nature-friendly, people-friendly sake

Tanizakura-Shuzo
Since1848

We started operations as a small shop selling sacred sake in 1848 under the name “Furuzeniya” as many antique coins (“Furuzeni” in Japanese) were excavated from the original building site. Tanizakura continues brewing sake in a traditional way in a favorable natural environment that commands a view of Mt. Yatsugatake.

Aiming at making nature-friendly, people-friendly sake, the brewery continues to make improvements to its commitment to its ideals by using organically grown rice, preparing kimoto (natural fermentation starter) (kimotozukuri), etc.
